Calibear Gilly Recycler Peak Attachment

Every device with Peak in the name takes the same glass, and the Gilly Recycler mounts to any of them the same way the stock glass does. Pull the stock glass off the base, seat the Gilly in its place, and the chamber, atomizer, and carb cap all stay put. Nothing else changes about how the device runs.

Two things change day to day. First, splash. Because the water is draining away from the airpath instead of bubbling directly under it, less spray makes it to the mouthpiece on a hard pull. Second, temperature and texture. Continuous water contact takes more heat out of the vapor than a single pass through a bubbler, so higher settings on the Peak drink smoother than they do through stock glass.

Fill level matters more on a recycler than on stock glass. You want enough water that the loop keeps cycling, and little enough that the drain can keep up. Add water, pull without heat, and adjust until the cycle runs without flooding the neck. Pour it out after sessions; a recycler holds water in more places than a bubbler, and stale water in the loop is the main cleaning complaint with this style of glass.

Empty it after use and rinse with warm water. For resin buildup, soak with isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt, then rinse until the alcohol smell is gone. Let it drain upside down; the loop takes longer to dry than stock glass. Do not put it on the base wet at the joint, and never freeze it to speed cleaning, because thermal shock is what kills recyclers.

Get the Gilly if you run your Peak at higher temperature settings and want the pull cooled down, or if splashback on the stock glass bothers you. It also earns its place if you own more than one Peak generation, since the same attachment moves between them.

Skip it if you want the easiest possible cleaning or you travel with your Peak. Stock glass rinses out faster, dries faster, and survives a bag better. A recycler is a home upgrade.
