Wig-Wag Linework
The chamber column shows the gold-amber wig-wag linework Zach is known for. Silver striking during the glasswork phase pulls the color into the amber-through-gold range depending on the heat work, and the lines sweep vertically across the chamber so you see the pattern move as you turn the piece in your hand.
Reticello Honeycomb Rim Work
Both the mouthpiece and the 10mm joint carry fine honeycomb linework in gold around the rim. This treatment is a reticello-style technique where crossed canes are embedded in the rim surface, and it’s slow, detailed work that most production rigs skip entirely. It’s one of the first things you notice when the piece is in hand.
Signature Marble Accent
A single marble is set into the chamber wall. It carries its own interior pattern (a crosshatched grid visible through the dome), and it functions as both a visual focal point and a hand reference when the piece is being used. Marble work is one of the ways heady glassblowers sign their rigs, and Gatez has run marbles across his catalog for years.
